Abuja – The Plateau State Government has signed a formal agreement with Aviare Global Concepts Limited to redevelop Plateau Resort and Hotels Limited, elevating it to international standards in a bid to boost the state’s tourism sector and revenue generation.
The agreement, known as the Heads of Terms, was signed at the Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja. Governor Caleb Mutfwang, who oversaw the signing, expressed his administration’s commitment to revitalizing long-neglected state assets. The Plateau Investment and Property Development Company (PIPC) was represented by its Managing Director, Hon. Danlami Jelka, while Mr. Kudla Satumari, Chairman of Aviare Global Concepts, signed on behalf of the company.
Governor Mutfwang highlighted the significance of the agreement in restoring Plateau Hotel, stating, “Today marks another significant step in reviving our state’s legacy properties. With this project, we are not only enhancing our state’s beauty but also creating a more attractive destination for tourists.”
He emphasized the economic impact of the project, which aims to improve the hospitality sector, attract visitors, and foster a business-friendly environment.
Hon. Danlami Jelka provided details on the terms of the agreement, explaining that Aviare Global Concepts was selected from 11 firms due to the strength of its financial and technical plans. The lease term for the project will span 20 years from the start of the refurbishment, rehabilitation, operation, and transfer of the hotel.
The project is expected to create jobs, generate revenue, and optimize assets for the state. It will also include profit-sharing and an annual lease fee.
Mr. Kudla Satumari assured that his company, with a 31-year track record of successful national and international projects, is fully committed to delivering on the project. He called on the Plateau State Government to provide the necessary support to ensure the hotel is rebuilt to the highest standards.
This redevelopment project marks a new chapter for Plateau State, as the administration continues to leverage private-sector partnerships to unlock the state’s tourism potential.
