Fast rising music star Mohammed Salis, popularly known as BIG DRELA, is set to host a homecoming event at Crest Hotel Jos on Sunday, September 22, 2024, as part of a celebration of his musical journey and a gesture of giving back to his community. BIG DRELA, who is currently signed to Cash Boy Records, has made a name for himself in the music industry with his unique Afro-fusion sound, a blend of R&B, reggae, and Afrobeat.
Having spent years building his career in Lagos and traveling to places like Ghana, BIG DRELA is now returning to his roots in Jos. Speaking about the event, he said, “A man doesn’t forget his roots. You have to start at home before going abroad. I’m back with a lot of good things for everyone.”
The event, which is free of charge, aims to unite people and celebrate his success, while also acknowledging the support he’s received from his community over the years. BIG DRELA has organized transportation for attendees from various locations and promises a day filled with gifts and surprises. Some of the giveaways include pedicure machines, clippers, hand dryers, and a cash prize of 300,000 Naira for lucky winners.
Reflecting on his musical journey, BIG DRELA shared that his passion for music began at home, where his father’s love for music, especially in the church, inspired him. This led him to pursue music professionally, eventually signing with Cash Boy Records.
BIG DRELA revealed at a press conference held in Jos at the NUJ Press Center that he will be releasing his EP titled “Bad Boy” on September 20. With excitement building, the event at Crest Hotel is expected to draw a large crowd as fans and supporters gather to celebrate BIG DRELA’s homecoming and his rise in the music industry.
