The Plateau State Government has announced a partial relaxation of the 24-hour curfew previously imposed on the Jos-Bukuru metropolis, citing improved security conditions. Starting Wednesday, August 7, 2024, residents will be allowed to move freely between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM daily until further notice.
Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang made the decision to ease the curfew after consulting with security agencies, commending them for their dedication to ensuring public safety. He emphasized the need for continued vigilance to prevent any resurgence of violence and stated that the government will continue to monitor the situation and adjust the curfew as necessary.
The governor called on residents to cooperate with security personnel and to report any suspicious activities. He assured the public of the government’s commitment to safeguarding the well-being of all citizens.
Governor Mutfwang also praised the residents for their patriotism and cooperation during the curfew, noting that their compliance is crucial for the state’s collective security and interests.
