The streets and major roads in Jos and Bukuru metropolis have been largely deserted following the imposition of a 24-hour curfew by Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang. The curfew, which came into effect at midnight, has led to the closure of businesses and markets throughout the area, with traders and shop owners adhering strictly to the government’s directive.
Security personnel and essential service providers are the only visible presence in the otherwise empty streets, as citizens comply with the curfew aimed at restoring order amid ongoing protests.
The high level of compliance across the metropolis reflects the seriousness with which residents are taking the curfew, as the state seeks to curb unrest and maintain public safety.
