Hon. Daniel Asama, representing the Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency, hosted a Thanksgiving concert titled “Ebenezer” today at Ornet Pavilion in Jos, Plateau State. The event attracted a large turnout of youths and supporters.
In his address, Hon. Asama explained the significance of the concert’s name, “Ebenezer,” as a recognition of God’s guidance and faithfulness. “This is purely to thank God and appreciate His faithfulness. We are acknowledging that God has brought us this far and will not abandon us now,” Asama stated.
The event primarily focused on engaging the youth, with Asama highlighting the importance of including young people in such celebrations. He noted that the concert was designed to resonate with the youth, who form a significant part of his support base. “Eighty percent of my aides and political assistants are young people. They are the driving force of every economy,” he added.
Asama also expressed gratitude to the Plateau State Governor, whose support and inclusive governance philosophy have been instrumental in his political journey. “The governor’s benevolence and level playing ground were crucial to my emergence. About 60 to 70% of his cabinet are younger people, which aligns with my approach,” he remarked.
Reflecting on the recent elections, Asama described the political landscape in Plateau as challenging but ultimately unifying. “Despite political differences, people rallied around me because of the Plateau People’s Project. This project transcends party lines, focusing solely on the betterment of Plateau State,” he said.
Hon. Musa Ashoms, Plateau State Commissioner for Information and Communication and chairman of the planning committee, praised Asama’s commitment to the Plateau project. “This is not about political parties; it’s about supporting a young, energetic leader who understands the Plateau project,” Ashoms commented.
The concert featured performances from top musicians and comedians in Plateau State, creating a lively atmosphere for attendees. The Thanksgiving celebrations are set to continue with a service at ECWA Gospel Church in Tudunwada on Sunday, June 9th, with several dignitaries expected to attend.
The event underscored a message of unity and collective progress for Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole. “If we want to grow and develop, we must be united. Daniel Asama symbolizes this unity,” Ashoms concluded.
