The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has appointed Dr. Sani Dawop as its Acting National Publicity Secretary. The National Working Committee of the ADP endorsed Dr. Dawop’s appointment during a meeting held at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, 26 June 2024.
Dr. Dawop is a distinguished senior executive and technocrat with a wealth of experience in various sectors. He holds a degree in Business Management from the University of Jos and a Master’s degree in Strategy and Security Administration from the Nigeria Defence Academy, Kaduna. His professional background includes roles such as Head of Planning, Research and Statistics in the Office of the Auditor General for the Federation, International Consultant for the United Nations Development Programme in Ethiopia, and Inspector of Taxes at the Federal Inland Revenue Service. He has also served as an Associate Program Officer with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and currently holds the position of General Manager, Human Resources at Dangote Nasarawa Sugar Co. Ltd.
Dr. Dawop’s commitment to professionalism is evident through his memberships in several esteemed organizations. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), the Institute of Training and Research, the Institute of Corporate Administration, and the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants. Additionally, he is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
As an economic analyst, organizational management expert, human resource professional, project management specialist, and political strategist, Dr. Dawop has led numerous world-class projects and economic initiatives, both within Nigeria and internationally. His extensive travels have taken him to over 15 countries, enriching his global perspective.
Dr. Dawop’s political career includes running for the Chairmanship of Mangu LGA and serving as the ADP gubernatorial candidate for Plateau State in the 2023 elections. Although he did not win the gubernatorial seat, his party secured victory in the recent rerun for the Plateau North Senatorial seat.
Dr. Dawop’s appointment brings great hope and expectation from the Nigerian public.
