The Dachung Musa Bagos Foundation has fulfilled its promise by awarding a comprehensive scholarship to Sunday Gyang Yohanna, a JSS 2 student at Shiphrah Private School, Roh Yow, Heipang. This scholarship, announced during the Nzem Gwol festival in early May 2024, will cover Yohanna’s education from secondary school through to university.
The presentation took place at Shiphrah Private School, where the Foundation’s Programmes Manager, Mr. Alpha Dali, represented the Executive Director, Mrs. Lydia Dachung Musa Bagos. Mr. Dali highlighted that the scholarship aims to encourage Yohanna to pursue education and leadership. “Education is the foundation of human development. To empower the future, we must invest today,” he said, emphasizing the Foundation’s commitment to supporting creativity, innovation, and self-development among young people.
Mr. Dali also urged the students to view themselves as ambassadors of their generation and to nurture the potential for greatness within them.
The school’s proprietress and head of the primary section, Mrs. Lydia Jeremiah Bot, expressed gratitude for the Foundation’s support, calling it a significant blessing. Mrs. Sarah Yohanna, the mother of the scholarship recipient, was emotional as she thanked the Foundation for its generosity, noting that this act of kindness would leave an indelible mark on their family.
In addition to the scholarship, the Foundation also donated books to all students and teachers at the school in celebration of Children’s Day.
This initiative by the Dachung Musa Bagos Foundation underscores its dedication to fostering education and development among the youth in Plateau State and beyond.
