The Plateau Peace Practitioners Network (PPPN) gracefully transitioned its leadership, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter in the pursuit of harmony within the Plateau community.
The inauguration, held at the TEKAN headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, saw the torch passed from the capable hands of Mr. Pwakim Jacob Choji to the incoming executives, led by Mr. Nanmak D Bali. Amidst a backdrop of unity and gratitude, the outgoing president expressed his appreciation for the unwavering support and commitment of his team during their tenure in office.
Reflecting on the journey of the PPPN under his stewardship, Mr. Pwakim recounted the network’s strides under his stewardship, noting the significant strides made in fostering peace and understanding among communities. From meager financial resources to a thriving network, the PPPN has emerged as a beacon of hope, championing inclusivity, transparency, and excellence in its endeavors.
Highlighting the accomplishments achieved during his tenure, Mr. Pwakim underscored the importance of proper documentation, capacity-building initiatives, and strategic partnerships in advancing the cause of peace. Despite facing challenges along the way, the outgoing president expressed confidence in the resilience and dedication of the incoming leadership to uphold the network’s values and legacy.
In his inaugural address, Mr. Nanmak D Bali expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the PPPN into a new era of peacebuilding and collaboration. Recognizing the collective effort of all stakeholders, he pledged to build upon the foundation laid by his predecessors, fostering diversity, equity, and inclusivity within the network.
“As we embark on this journey together, let us remember that peace is not merely the absence of conflict but the presence of justice, equality, and mutual respect,” remarked Mr. Nanmak. “I am committed to working tirelessly to promote these values and create a legacy of peace that will endure for generations to come.”
Immediately following his inauguration, the new PPPN president wasted no time in constituting a Social Media Committee to enhance the network’s outreach and engagement. Joined by a dedicated team of executives, including Vice President Hajiya Maimuna Abdullahi, Secretary Mr. Kingsley Obidah, Assistant Secretary Mr. Pam, and Media and Publicity Officer Mr. David I, Mr. Nanmak expressed optimism for the future of the PPPN under their collective leadership.
The ceremony was further enriched by insightful goodwill messages from esteemed guests and stakeholders, including Dr. Julie Sanda, Director General of the Plateau Peace Building Agency, who emphasized the importance of partnership and coordination in peacebuilding efforts. Other dignitaries, including Mrs. Helen Haggai, Coordinator of TEKAN Peace Desk, and representatives from various security agencies, echoed their support for the PPPN’s mission and vision.
As the PPPN sets sail on a new voyage, guided by the principles of unity, integrity, and collaboration, all eyes are on the horizon, brimming with anticipation for a brighter and more harmonious future for the people of Plateau State.
