Lagos Police Commissioner, Idowu Owohunwa, made this revelation during a live press briefing on X platform, providing crucial updates on the ongoing investigation.
Commissioner Owohunwa disclosed that the auxiliary nurse who administered treatment to Mohbad was not qualified to administer injections to the singer. The injections, he noted, triggered a series of events that ultimately led to the singer’s untimely death.
However, it’s important to note that the results of the autopsy conducted on the deceased are still pending, and further details are expected to emerge once the findings are available.
Mohbad, a former signee of Marlian Record label owned by Naira Marley, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, under controversial circumstances.
In addition to the nurse’s involvement, the Lagos State Police Command has named two more individuals, Mohbad’s childhood friend known as Primeboy and one Ayobami, as major suspects in the case. These developments underline the complexity of the ongoing investigation into the singer’s tragic demise.
Police Commissioner Owohunwa stated, “Primeboy, Auxiliary Nurse, [and] Ayobami Sediq, aka Splendid, are prime suspects. Splendid was complicit for inviting the nurse who he knew was unqualified to administer a potent medication that triggered reactions that led to Mohbad’s death.”
“There’re preponderance of evidence linking both Naira Marley and Sam Larry to the allegations of threat to life and Cyber stalking committed against Mohbad in his life time” – Lagos State Commissioner of Police pic.twitter.com/ybi57I5bqM
