First Lady Sen. Remi Tinubu held a meeting with Amina Jane Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, United States.
During their discussions, they focused on the empowerment of Nigerian women and explored ways in which the UN can provide support to enhance economic empowerment, social investment, and healthcare delivery for women in particular. The first lady said this via her official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
The First Lady said she is looking forward to result oriented partnerships with the UN in these areas mentioned above.
She wrote: “I had the pleasure of receiving in audience Amina Jane Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations.
“We had very useful discussions about the Nigerian Woman and how the United Nations can further lend a helping hand to achieve enhanced economic empowerment, social investment and improved health care delivery for women in particular.”
