Vice President, Kashim Shettima and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje met with the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma and a former governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha to help them resolve their differences.
In the last few years, there has been disagreement between Uzodinma and Okorocha over the politics of Imo.
Uzodinma in 2021 got a court injunction to seal property belonging to Okorocha.
Okorocha in an attempt to unseal one of the properties was arrested, but he was granted bail the same day.
The former governor of Imo State in the buildup to the 2019 election in the state, endorsed his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu for the APC governorship ticket, over Uzodinma.
The party primaries produced two governorship candidates, but APC went ahead to recognise Uzodinma as the authentic flagbearer, under the leadership of Adams Oshiomhole, the then-national chair of the party.
APC in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Thursday night said it is now a united party.
The post had pictures of the four men high-fiving and flashing broad smiles.
The party posted, “Vice President Kashim Shettima, our National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma and Senator Rochas Okorocha Parley.
“Ahead of the Imo state governorship election, APC is a united and strong house.”
The Imo governorship election will be held on November 11.
