The Transition Committee Chairman of Riyom Local Government, Sati Shuwa, launched the distribution of essential relief materials provided by the Federal Government to support the community during challenging times.
During a significant event held in Riyom, Chairman Sati Shuwa highlighted that the local government had received a generous allocation of one hundred and sixty-six bags of rice from the Federal Government, facilitated through the Plateau State Government. This relief aid is intended to reach the most vulnerable individuals across the three districts within Riyom Local Government Area.
In a bid to ensure equitable distribution and prevent any misappropriation of resources, the Chairman personally handed over the relief materials to the committee responsible for their distribution. In his address, he strongly cautioned officials against any form of diversion, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to closely oversee the process to guarantee that the aid reaches its intended recipients.
Sati Shuwa elaborated that the allocation of the relief materials would see each of the three districts receiving fifty-five bags of rice, contributing to the collective effort to alleviate the burden on the most affected members of the community.
In addition to the Federal Government’s relief materials, the Local Government has taken steps to procure bags of various grains for distribution among the less privileged individuals throughout the area. Chairman Shuwa emphasized that this gesture underscores the administration’s determination to complement the initiatives of the Federal and State Governments, aiming to bring relief and renewed hope to the masses.
Chairman Sati Shuwa expressed his gratitude to both the Federal and State Governments for their commitment to the welfare of the citizens. He called upon the residents of the Local Government Area to rally behind the Governor, offering their unwavering support to facilitate the successful implementation of his mandates.
The symbolic presentation of the relief items saw the District Head of Bachi, Da Gyang Dalyop, the Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Riyom Local Government Chapter, Reverend Shankuk Obadiah, and the Chairman of the Jama’atu Nasir Islam of Riyom, Mato Albarka, receiving the aid on behalf of their respective communities. These community leaders expressed their deep appreciation to the Federal, State, and Local Governments for their collective efforts in bringing relief to those in need. They also reassured the public of their commitment to ensuring a fair and just distribution of the relief materials.
