In a recent development, the Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, has appointed the former Deputy Governor, Abdullahi Faskari, as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG). This decision comes as the current SSG, Ahmed Dangiwa, has been nominated for a ministerial position.
The announcement was made through a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Kaula, on Tuesday. The statement highlighted that Abdullahi Faskari’s appointment as the SSG is effective immediately.
He said: “The appointment is with immediate effect. Abdullahi is expected to bring on board his vast wealth of experience as a technocrat.
“The new SSG served as commissioner of justice and attorney-general from 2003 to 2009, before moving to the education ministry to serve in same capacity.
“He is currently the pro-chancellor and chairman, governing council of the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina.
“His contributions to the development and growth of the state, while serving as deputy to former governor Ibrahim Shema, remain unmatched.”
