Festus Keyamo, the immediate past Minister of State for Labour and Employment, paid a visit to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, in his office in Abuja.
Keyamo and Akume, a former governor of Benue State, were both ministers in the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.
In a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday morning, Keyamo announced that he paid a courtesy visit to his former colleague in his office on Tuesday.
He wrote: “Yesterday, I visited my former colleague in Cabinet and our new SGF in the in-coming Cabinet, H.E, Distinguished Senator George Akume in his office.”
Keyamo’s visit to the former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs comes a day after he was screened and cleared by the Senate as a minister.
Keyamo who appeared before the Senate for screening on Monday faced a tough moment following a motion demanding that the screening of Keyamo be suspended.
After an intervention by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Keyamo apologized to lawmakers in the Senate for shunning a series of invitations by the 9th National Assembly.
