Actress Georgina Onuoha has called upon the Delta State police to release the 100 suspected gay men who were arrested in the state.
These individuals were apprehended while allegedly participating in a gay wedding event in Sapele, a suburb of the state.
In response to their arrest, Georgina expressed her opinion that these men did not commit any violent or harmful acts towards others. She urged the authorities to release them, emphasizing that their sexual orientation does not make them responsible for the challenges faced by Nigerians.
Georgina’s plea comes amid a broader discussion around the rights and treatment of LGBTQ+ individuals in Nigeria.
