It was a classic display of Cakes at the First Ever Cake Fest in Jos Plateau state capital showcasing innovative works from over 200 bakers within and outside Jos Plateau state.
The event themed “Slices 1.0” was held on Monday 5th December 2022, at Villa Grande Hotel, Gold & Base, Jos Plateau.
Delivering her welcoming address Doc Mrs. Kangrot, CEO of KNL Cake and organizer of the event stated that the cake fest is something she had always wanted to do to bring bakers in one space to network together which has finally become a reality.
She added that the event would be an opportunity for all the bakers within Jos and neighboring cities to come together and showcase their talents.
“KNL cake fest is the ideology of making bakers, and cake lovers come together to learn, network, share new ideas, and eat different types of cake.
“I had always had the inspiration of having such an event but when you think of the financial implications, it is enough to discourage you, however, during the seminar of Uncut in Lagos, I was encouraged, so I went back to the drawing board to work on my idea of the cake fest which is now a reality.”
Subsequently, we will also bring people from all over the world too because the beauty of the cake fest is to grow internationally.”
Sharing how she remained consistent despite the fact that she started baking on a stove, she encouraged the bakers present to remain passionate and not to give up.
Adding that one of the aims of the Cake Fest is to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship in Plateau State.
Mrs. Kangrot gave her special thanks to her mentor, sponsors, and all attendees at the event.
“I will like to appreciate Uncle B who taught me how to make delicious cakes and that is one thing I can do with my eyes closed. So I learn to focus on my strength which is baking which gives me joy.
“Special thanks to our visitors from Lagos, Abuja, and Gombe, our first-generation bakers on the plateau who made sure they came out to be part of history, and a very special thanks to our sponsors Onigbinde stores, Alhaji Falsal, KNL, Tuscany, Ritzchops, and Success shop”
