In furtherance of his commitment to encourage education among the younger generation in order to fully prepare them for the future, a Health Professional, Pharm. Chun John Ezekiel popularly known as “CJ” who is the Chief of Staff to Dr. Simon Mwadkwon Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency has offset the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examination Fees for less privileged Students across the 8 Districts in Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas. The eight (8) District covered by the gesture are Ropp, Foron, Heipang, Fan, Gashish, Riyom, Ganawuri and Bachi.
The beneficiaries numbering 21 were meticulously selected by a Committee constituted for the purpose. While Rondong Wash Pam headed the Barkin Ladi LGA Team, Timothy Dung superintended the Riyom Local Government Area.
While commenting on what informed the gesture, Pharm. John Chun said education is power and vital in this jet age and considering the insecurity that has affected the areas which left many death, incapacitated and their means of livelihood destroyed, it became imperative to assist in the little way he did.
He said considering the place of education to globalization, it is important to invest in the future generation.
He said only Nation that invest hugely in education will be able to compete favorably well and move with the rest of the World.
According to him, The decision was necessitated because he noticed a sharp decline in tertiary school enrolment as a result of the biting and ravaging economic crisis facing the country.
“This has led to exponential negative growth in drug and substance abuse.
“Mine is simply built on compassion and humanitarianism of mankind. If each one helps one, the society will be a better place”
“My future plans particularly in 2022, is to make a quarterly investment in scholars and intending scholars as a modest way of giving back to the society. The educational interventions will cover pre-college, college and postgraduate interventions however little”
“As a critical election year approaches, I intend to design free voter education campaigns that can help shape the thought process of our teeming population in selecting credible and compassionate leaders”
“I am trusting God for ability to be an Interventionist in some critical infrastructure to a few helpless communities and neglected populations within our system”
“The year is going to be an interesting one, I can confidently say we will do more for humanity” he concluded.
The beneficiaries and their Guardians who could not hide their joy commended the initiative and appreciated their Benefactor for identifying with them and investing in their personal development. They prayed God to open doors to him so that he can reach more people with the humanitarian and educational interventions.
Stakeholders from the Local Government Areas have continued to pour encomiums on the donor for the laudable gesture.
