Plateau state is set to host over 300 Golfers across the country for the 2021 edition of the Governor’s Cup ” Pro-Amature Golf Tournament” of the Lamingo Golf Club, scheduled to Tee-off at the Lamingo Golf Course in Jos the Plateau State Capital from Tuesday 7th December 2021.
Captain of the Lamingo Golf Club, Hon Joseph Bukar who spoke to Journalist in Jos, said he was delighted to announce that all has been put in place to host golfers from different parts of the country for the Pro-Amature Golf Tournament which has been an annual event since the inception of the Rescue Administration of Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State.
Hon Joseph Bukar, stated that the Governor’s Cup ” Pro-Amature Golf Tournament” hosted by the Lamingo Golf Club is a major event in the Golfing circle not only in Nigeria but also in West Africa with the participation of so many professional Golfers as well as Amateurs to compete and sharpen their skills.
He noted that over the years the Governor’s Cup ” Pro-Amature Golf Tournament” has been an opportunity to showcase the state through peace, unity and hospitality of the people.
Also responding, the Hon Secretary of the Lamingo Golf Club, Mr. Nathaniel Lagan, was full of gratitude for the efforts put in Place by the state Governor, Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong, who doubles as the Grand Patron of the Lamingo Golf Club for his overwhelming support for golfing in the state, himself being an active golfer, especially for ensuring that the event holds yearly.
Lagan said that the golf tournament was a booster to the state as it assembles people from all over the country and opens the state more to showcase its tourism potential. He said that the Governor’s Cup ” Pro-Amature Golf Tournament” like previous years is laced with various prizes and cash rewards for winners.
The Governor’s Cup ” Pro-Amature Golf Tournament” will Tee-off at the Lamingo Golf Course from Tuesday 7th and will see a continuous lineup of events and competition up until Sunday 12th December 2021, Starting at 7am Daily.
The tournament will have the Pro and Cart-1 play from 7th to 10th December 2021. Then the Cart II, III, IV and Ladies Cart-I will play from 11th and 12th with final entries for the tournament expected to close on 9th December 2021.
There will be a ceremonial Tee-off for the Amature Golfers on Saturday11th December 2021 by the State Governor, Rt Hon Simon Lalong while the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representative, Ahmed Idris Wase will lead other dignitaries to see out the closeout event on Sunday, 12th December to present prizes to winners.
