The Court of Appeal, Jos Division has declined to grant an application for adjournment by the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), to enable it react to two processes of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is challenging the Judgment delivered at the Plateau State High Court, presided over by, Hon. Justice, I. Kunda.
The PDP in its Appeal filed had applied for accelerated hearing of the matter and also for an Order of Injunction, restraining the conduct of the Plateau State Local Government elections, pending the determination of the Appeal.
Recently, the PDP had approached the State High Court to challenge the decision of PLASIEC to exclude it from participating in the forthcoming Local Government (LG) elections slated for Saturday 9th of October, 2021.
In their wisdom, after a recess, the Judges of the Court of Appeal, unanimously declined the adjournment sought by PLASIEC through its Counsel, Garba Pwul (SAN). Consequently the Judges upheld the objection to the application made by, E. D. Pwajok (SAN), who led, S. Odey (Esq), S. Oyawola (Esq) among 6 other Lawyers.
