Top music producer and CEO of BED Music Africa, Elmore Hodus also referred to as “Lord of The Beat” is one of the top entertainment entrepreneurs who is taking Jos Plateau state to greater heights especially with the recently held Music talent reality show “Pitch Perfect Naija”.
In this interview, Elmore talks about his experience in the Jos entertainment industry and the funny incidents that happened when he ran as an aspirant for Governor Performing Musicians Employers Association Of Nigeria (PMAN) Plateau state chapter.
The Jos Entertainment Industry and BED Music Africa:
Elmore: The entertainment industry in plateau state is really getting bigger every day, the acts coming in, events, entertainers getting endorsed and signing contracts, and a whole lot of things. It’s really growing, and I thank God for that.
My drive in the state has always come from what others are doing outside the state, I went to Lagos and learnt a lot and I have promised myself that plateau state entertainment will be massively known around the world.
I went, I saw, and I must say I also conquered. So when I see a lot of talented youths running down the street and being used for social vices, cultism and other criminal activities it gets me sober, however, with the interest of youths in entertainment, things are changing for the better and I thank God.
The challenges are enormous, ranging from how to gain acceptance, information (radio, bloggers, etc), Funding, government support and many more… but we hope and believe things will change soon especially if everyone puts in the right effort.
About Pitch Perfect Naija:
Elmore: Pitch Perfect Naija is another brainchild of BED Music Africa which was launched in 2021. Pitch Perfect is a show targeted at promoting the entertainment industry and giving it a better shape as something to talk about especially for upcoming talents. The show is designed for musicians around Nigeria, whereby a specific number of auditioned artiste will be in a house for a specific number of weeks and battle themselves thereby showing their musical talent after which, the number of votes the individual have determines if u stay or get evicted before the grand finale.
The show recorded success in its median edition and is scheduled to hold yearly.
PMAN and election of new state executives:
Elmore: My experience at that time when I came out to contest as for the PMAN governorship aspirant was funny. Funny in a sense that the electoral officials were not straightforward, they actually have their plans, but we are watching.
The electoral committee kept on changing dates and at last, we didn’t hear anything from them anymore. The next thing I heard and saw was that they chose some persons who they felt will do the work (I term that really funny). The election was never held unless they did without my knowledge.
Finally on the entertainment Industry:
Elmore: Moving forward I am still resolute in doing my best to make sure the entertainment industry goes to a better state with or without PMAN, I and the BED Music team have a lot of things that would be unfolded very soon.
Am very sure that in no time even Jos-based entertainers will buy cars and build houses with the money they made via their talent. It’s a box God is helping us to build and I won’t relent unless God says otherwise.
