Former Governor and previous legislative head of Plateau State, Senator Jonah Jang, yesterday, blamed the 1999 constitution, saying that it is the most serious issue confronting the country.
Sen. Jang brought up that the 1999 constitution is stacked with heaps of sacred issues, for example, deficiencies, disparity and bad form among others.
Jang who was likewise the quick past representative speaking to Plateau North made this known while talking with columnists at his home in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
As per the senior legislator, the 1999 constitution (as corrected), is hazardous on the grounds that, it gives a few people an excessive bit of leeway over the others.
He stated, “The military can’t make a constitution for a common and vote based society. Such a constitution, as we have now can’t stand and regardless of the changes, it won’t work.
“The government must allow people to deliberate, debate and discuss The issues and questions that have arisen out of the constitution.”
Sen. Jonah Jang, who was with his previous Attorney-General, Hon. Edward Pwajok (SAN), demanded that the constitution is defective, as it doesn’t give the minorities in the country the chance to ascend to the seat of the Presidency.
