DAKAS Foundation donated 30bags of food grains including Maize,
Beans, Garri and Sugar to the poor and vulnerable on Sunday 24th May
2020 in some parts of Plateau state.

The
foundation which is the brainchild of Professor C. J.
Dakas, a renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) took time out to
share in the plight of the poor and physically challenged by donating
the food items.

The Places visited to make the donations
included an uncompleted
building which was housing displaced persons with about 32 Households
resident in the camp. Other places included The Our Lady of Apostle
Orphanage Zawan Jos south, 70 Widows of Federal Lowcost
Community and then persons with disabilities at the Disability Rights
Commission in Jos.

Barr (Mrs) Beatrice Dakas

While
presenting the items, Barr (Mrs) Beatrice Dakas who spoke on behalf of
the Foundation, said the gesture
was necessitated by the present predicament of places visited as well as
the adverse
effect of the Coronavirus Pandemic which has halted economic activities
and brought a huge strain in the daily livelihood of vulnerable persons
in the state. She further encouraged the beneficiaries to
put their trust in God and remain positive to better days ahead.

Mrs Dakas also called on the government
and other well spirited individuals to emulate the effort of Prof.
Dakas Foundation given the risk
and health hazard in some of the places visited as she urged them to maintain good
personal hygiene, adhere strictly to all set guidelines.

At
the places visited, some of the beneficiaries were drawn to tears of
joy and further appreciated the humanitarian intervention while thanking
Dakas Foundation for identifying with them at their critical time of
need.
