Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State on Tuesday monitored compliance
to the lockdown in the state with a visit to areas within the
Jos-Bukuru metropolis as well as the Plateau-Bauchi border in Babale.
Our correspondent reports that Lalong praised the citizens for their cooperation and near total compliance.
It could be recalled that Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State last
week Monday ordered a total shut down of activities of the state
effective 12 midnight of Thursday 9th April 2020 to 11pm Wednesday
15th April 2020 for fumigation of the entire state .
The state Government also set up 10 mobile courts to try violators of the order.
Governor Lalong who flagged off the fumigation exercise on Friday said
“We have also been preparing in the unfortunate event that if any case
is recorded in Plateau state so that we can respond appropriately .”
He said that although no case has been recorded in Plateau as at today
, the state cannot relax , “We have to remain vigilant and proactive ”
Further directives will be issued at the end of the one week lockdown Wednesday 15th April 2020
