Today, the ASTC Team responsible for the fumigation exercise of the 17 local government areas in Plateau state moved to start the Plateau Southern senatorial zones
The fumigation personnel were distributed across Shendam, Mikang, Qua’anpan, Wase and Kanam local government areas
simultaneously.
Most areas visited in the local government was fully compliant with lockdown order by government with the exception of Kurgwi in Quanpan LGA.
The Councils’ Officials of all the areas visited in their separate
remarks applauded Gov. Simon Lalong for taking the fumigation exercise
to the Local Government Area and for the lockdown order to achieve a
Plateau State free from COVID-19.
They appreciated the people for the level of compliance achieved and thanked the security agencies for enforcing compliance.
They frowned at how people are being smuggled others from States with
confirmed cases into the State. They called on the security agencies to
be put more vigilance in play and arrest all violators of the lockdown
order for prosecution.
They charged the people to remain at home, obey all preventive,
safety and precautionary measures advised by the Nigeria Centre for
Disease Control (NCDC), World Health Organization (WHO) and government
directives which are for public good and in their best interest to
enhance a more healthy society and population.
They promised to provide more palliatives to cushion the effects of
COVID-19 which has affected the socio-economic well-being of the people
and appealed to the Federal Government to provide more welfare
interventions to the masses especially the vulnerable and less
privileged.
