IN Plateau 45 Suspected Cases Coronavirus Screened

By the available test results, Plateau State officials in Central Nigeria say they have screened 49 suspected cases of coronavirus in the State, 45 of the test results have returned negative, while others are still
pending,

On
Friday the Secretary to the state Government, Prof.
Danladi Abok Atu who also doubles as the Coordinating Secretary of the
State Taskforce on COVID-19, said that the state is yet to report any case of corona-virus
given that 49 contacts have be made with suspected cases and test
carried out of which 45 have returned negative with 3 other test still
in coming. He said the government will continue to put in place measures
that
will prevent the virus and contain any spreed in the event of an
outbreak. He said government still holds sacred the set ground rules;
Hand Sanitizer and hand washing at every point, maintenance of the
2meters social distancing, suspension of all public gathering and event
must not exceed 50people.

Furthermore Plateau State government has closed its borders with regulations which placing restrictions and temporal
closure of certain businesses in the State to curb the spread of the
disease as any religious or private organization that does not comply will be closed down and sanctioned.

Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong and Chairman of the COVID-19 Emergency Response Committee has also expressed gratitude to corporate organisations and individuals within the State who have responded to his call for donations to the COVID-19 ENDOWMENT FUND established by the State Government.

Prof. Danladi Atu who received all the donations on behalf of Governor Simon Lalong said the Government was elated that these organisations have responded positively. He said the items will be distributed for use in responding to the disease.

It would be recalled that the political appointees in the State including the Governor agreed to a 50% cut in their allowances as their contribution to the fight against corona virus.

The Government recently announced that it has established the Plateau State Covid-19 Support Fund. The Account is operated by the UBA which has donated 28.5 million naira. For other corporate
organisations and well spirited individuals who may wish to contribute, the
