COVID-19 Plateau: Hon. Shehu Bala Monitors Security Checks, Lauds Lockdown Compliance in Jos North LGA (Photos)

 

The chairman of Jos North Local Area, Hon Shehu Bala Usman, has expressed satisfaction over the level of compliance with the total lockdown in Jos the capital city of Plateau State.

Hon. Shehu Bala made this known in an interview with journalist who where monitoring the exercise in Jos as he was also on assessment visit to some security checks within the city.

On assessment visit to security check points, the chairman addressed the personnel on duty at the city center and encouraged them to be up and doing as the success of the exercises depended on their effectiveness also taking note of some of the concerns of the security personnel on duty.

 

Speaking further to journalist, the LG boss noted the importance of the total lockdown, praising the pro-activeness of state governor, Simon Bako Lalong for taking the lockdown measure to curb any spread of Covid19 to the state especially with the ongoing fumigation exercise. He said that coronavirus does not move but is been carried by persons from one point to another as such it was even more important that the movement of persons has been restricted.

Furthermore he noted that the fumigation may not cover all streets but place of high public gatherings as such he will ensure that local government also tries in its own part to reach places that are yet covered even after the exercise is over.

He expressed his gratitude to all security agents and vigilantes who have helped in safeguarding the  state especially during the lockdown.

The local government has also moved with palliatives for the poor to cushion the effect of the lockdown which may not cover all but has gone to help a few within Jos North Local Government. He also employed good meaning Nigerians that can help in also giving out to the poor.

The Plateau State government issued a total 7days lockdown to curb the spread of Covid-19, which started on Thursday midnight and will end on Wednesday 15th, April 2020. The state is also using the opportunity to fumigate all 17 local government areas.
