The
Plateau State Government has said that the agricultural Sub-Sector was
receiving a boast in this year’s budget with the allocation of the sum of N2,674,850,000.00 to the sub-sector.
The
government said one of the major areas of intervention is the establishment and
management of ranches which is allocated the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty
Million Naira (N250,000,000.00) only in
this year budget.
This
was revealed by the State commissioner of Budget and Economic planning
Sylvester I. Wallangko during the 2019 state budget breakdown held in the
conference hall of cabinet office Jos on Wednesday.
When
asked on the location of the Ranches, the commissioner said that a committee
was set up by the state government to look into the issue of the establishment
and management of Ranches in the state adding that it was only after the report
of the committee that the location of the Ranches will be certain.
“A
committee has been set up by the Plateau State Government on the issue of
Ranches and it is the report of the committee that will show where the Ranches
would be located” Said the commissioner.
