Am I CONFUSED???
Please read through…thoughtfully and carefully.
I observed something disturbing in the presidential election results collated by INEC.
First, let me explain some terms.
1. Rejected Votes: These are discarded ballot papers made by voters whose voting does not agree to the election tenets. For instance, not inking the ballot sheet at all. Or having your thumb print inked outside the designated box you intended to vote for. Or inking on the logo of the party instead of the available space boxed after the logo of the party. Among other reasons.
2. Total Valid Votes: These votes are the accepted votes casted by the voter, which rhymes with the rudiments of the election process.
3. Total Vote Cast: is the summation of the valid votes and the rejected votes.
Assignment: Pick the results of any state collated and add these figures, if they don’t add up, then the result is flawed.
4. No of Accredited Voters: this is the exact number of people who were verified by the smart card reader at their polling units. It means, anyone who doesn’t have a PVC cannot be accredited and hence cannot vote.
FLASH BACK – In 2015, the voting process was thus;
A. Step One: Join the queue and get accredited.
B. Step Two: after everyone is accredited in that polling unit, then voting begins. Which means, a voter after being accredited can go home, relax and return later for voting.
FAST TRACK – In 2019, the voting process changed and it is thus;
A. Step One: Join queue and get accredited.
B. Step Two: Immediately after accreditation, you’ll be issued a ballot paper to cast your vote.
GOING FORWARD…..
Let me use my state, Plateau state as an example.
Total No of Accredited Voters: 1,074,042
Total Votes Cast: 1,062,862
Total Valid Votes: 1,034,853
Rejected Votes: 28,009
Mathematically,
Firstly…
Rejected Votes + Total Valid Votes = Total Votes Cast. (using the example above, this figure is correct)
Secondly…
Total no of Accredited voters supposed to equal the total votes cast knowing fully that this year, no one ever leaves the polling unit after being Accredited. If it was in 2015, oh yes, it can be excused that a voter might have left after accreditation and never came back to the polling unit to vote. In 2019, this excuse is void because a voter who gets accredited immediately votes.
But then, with the example above, there is a deficit of 11,180 people who were Accredited but never voted.
While everyone reading this who voted (this 2019) will agree with me that being Accredited and not voting is thin and almost impossible, how come 11,180 voters came to the polling unit, gave their PV Cards to be verified, got accredited and then didn’t vote at all??? How possible is this?
Can someone tell me what happened to 11,180 people, who are these 11,180 people and how come they got accredited and never voted????
This discrepancy is consistent in all the presidential results submitted per state to the INEC national returning officer, Yakubu Mahmood. In fact, some states have a difference of over 50,000 voters who got accredited and never voted.
I ask again, what could birth that error?
Can someone explain to me better so that I can stop being confused about these flawed and dented figures???
If you’re confused also, please hit share until it gets to Mahmood Yakubu, INEC Chairman who will have the best answer to this mishap in detailing the presidential results.
If not, then APC rigged, but it wasn’t perfect.
This alone is enough to set INEC ablaze in court.
NOTE: Over voting is the tendency when the total Vote Cast is more than the Accredited Voters. So it is advised that after the last available person votes, remaining ballot papers should be X’ed not given for more thumb printing to raise figures for a said party. The votes at this polling unit will be canceled if this irregularity is noticed. This should be discouraged because it is voting exercise in futility.
