There was jubilation in the Bogoro / Dass / Tafawabalewa federal
constituency shortly after Speaker Yakubu Dogara was declared winner of
the Saturday 23 presidential and national assembly elections as
supporters poured on the streets to celebrate his re-election.
Honourable Yakubu Dogara of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)
emerged winner of the election as announced by the Returning Officer,
Professor Mohammed Abdulhamid on Sunday.
Making the result known in Zwall the Collation center for Dass,Tafawa
Balewa and Bogoro Federal constituency Professor Abdulhamid said Yakubu
Dogara of the PDP polled 73,609 votes to beat Alhaji Dalhatu Kantana
of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 50,078 to retain
his seat in the house of Representatives.
He commended the electorates for their orderly conduct, saying the exercise was free, transparent and fair.
Addressing thousands of supporters who besieged his country home in
Gwaranga village of Bogoro local government area, Speaker Dogara said he
was impressed with the massive support and love shown him by the people
of his constituency.
He assured of his continued efforts to deliver more dividends of
democracy to the people of the three Local Governments he represents and
even beyond.
According to him, the area is blessed with right thinking persons who
knows what is good for them and have demonstrated that by voting him
the forth term.
“I want to call on you to come out en mass on 9th of March, 2019 to
cast your votes for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic
Party ( PDP) ,Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir as Governor and all
other PDP candidates”.
He said for Nigeria to work again, the electorates should vote
massively for all the candidates of the PDP so to rid the country of the
APC maladministration.
