Earlier today,
Mr. Osaretin Imahiyeboro the public relations office of the Independent
Nigerian Electoral Commissions INEC Plateau state paid a courtesy
visit to the Equity Election Situation Room sited here at Cypa Africa
Hub in Jos. In the course of his visit Mr. Osaretin expressed joy and
excitement upon the sight of young and vibrant youths who are working
and gathering data together from the thirty-six state of Nigeria
including the Federal capital to help monitor and permit a free, fair
and credible elections.
The INEC PRO also commented on the
Equity Election Tracker andriod app which he applauded as a very good
idea for elections monitoring and reporting, he did not hesitate to
recommend the app for INEC use as part of sharing data between the
Equity Elections Situation Room and the INEC Elections Situation Room.
In his words “INEC should have the Equity Election Tracker App which
would be used in addition to other apps to monitor the elections”.
Upon hearing that it was one of the volunteer staff from Equity Situation room who built the app the PRO got more excited.
He further encouraged everyone working in the situation room to keep up
the good work and be intentional about building a better Nigeria, he
assured the young men and women that Nigeria will be better if they keep
the tempo and continue in this manner especially in the area of
innovations and new ideas that will help improve the electoral system
such that elections can be done and people can still go on with their
daily activities.
