Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong on Tuesday accused the state
chapter of the peoples Democratic party PDP of spreading false hood.
The state Governor was reacting to a statement credited to the
peoples Democratic party deputy chairman Hon Amos Gombi Goyol where he
alleged that the All Progressive Congress APC in Plateau are inviting
people to surrender their permanent voters card for amounts ranging from
three to ten thousand naira .
In a swift development Lalong in a statement signed by Mark Longyen ,the
Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity and
made available to newsmen reads that the falsehood been spread by PDP
should be dismissed .
The statement reads that ” PDP is merely playing to the gallery and
engaging in diversionary tactics to misinform and mislead the public.
They are the ones planning to buy the PVCs for reasons best known to
them. I challenge them to publish documentary evidence to prove their
allegations or simply shut up.”
“The antics of the PDP are well known. Wild, speculations and brazen
falsehood constitute their stock-in-trade and it is not surprising,
especially as we are in the season of electoral campaigns.”
Governor Lalong’s second term is already a done deal, so their
allegation of a “crumbling administration” is a figment of their
imagination and they should brace up for a humiliating defeat in the
forthcoming Governorship elections.
